I am ardently trawling food blogs at the moment.  I think this is where some of the best and most modern food and food photography is coming from right now.  When you remove the confines of a commercial outlet (magazines, books etc), I am amazed at what people can produce with little more than personal passion.  And it seems that if you get it right, it could lead to all kinds of new endeavors and career opportunities.  It has almost entirely inspired me to take on this project.  Without the shadow of a client standing over you, its much easier to be creative.

Zur Zeit verfolge ich mit Hingabe Foodblogs. Meiner Meinung nach findet man dort das beste und modernste Foodstyling und die besten Foodbilder. Ich bin begeistert davon, was die Menschen dort produzieren, die meisten mit nicht mehr als ihrer Leidenschaft für Essen. Dagegen kann so manch kommerzielle, reich budgetierte Produktion einpacken. Geht man einen Foodblog richtig an, so scheint es, kann er zu neuen, auch beruflichen Möglichkeiten führen, das motiviert mich, dieses Projekt mit aller Kraft anzugehen. Ohne den Schatten eines großen Kunden über Dir, ist es doch einfach, kreativ zu arbeiten.

This shoot became a little self endulgent, but I absolutely love it.  Its one of the prettiest and most artistic I have ever done.  Max wanted to include a recipe, but for me this shoot was always about the pictures, I felt more like a painter than a photographer for this set.  Hopefully we will do many more like this…

Dieses Shooting drohte, uns verrückt zu machen aber ich liebe es absolut! Es ist eines der filigransten und künstlerischsten Shootings, die ich je gemacht habe. Max wollte in Rezept beifügen aber für mich geht es einzig und allein um die Bilder. Ich fühlte mich mehr wie ein Maler als ein Fotograf. Hoffentlich machen wir noch viele mehr solcher Shootings…
